How to Apply to Medical School

If you want to become a physician, you have to apply to medical school and be admitted to a program that leads to an M.D. or D.O. degree. The average medical school applicant applies to approximately 15 medical schools. Applicants may choose to apply to allopathic (M.D. granting) medical schools, osteopathic (D.O. granting) medical schools, or a combination of the two.
